UNIT 14 D2 UPADATE

positive;

The protocol transmission i would use if i sent a photo would be Bluetooth the positive things are that the they would get it for free, they do not have to pay for it which is good for them. Also, it is very secure so no one can hack into it, you can create a password for it. You can switch Bluetooth on and off so no one can find you when its off and just switch it on when you want it to be.

negative;
Bluetooth can only be used in a certain distance which is bad because you have to be near the person if you wanted too send them a data file. Bluetooth is also very slow so it will take a while to transmit your data across to others.

another way you can send a photo is by sending it via text message. This works by sending it through your network such as 02, orange and 3.

UNIT 14 M3

A mechanism that has been put in place to stop your human interaction is Skype. Skype excludes you from going out more, but if you own a webcam, you can actually speak face-to-face with people! If you have a microphone and a webcam then you can speak normally without typing, it's just like going out, but really you're not, as you can still see face-to-face!

A mechanism that has been put in place to improve data security is passwords and locating devices. If a thief managed to get hold of your phone and you have a password it will be very difficult for them to get in especially as with some phones it locks after a certain amount of tries this happens on blackberries and iPhones, you will then have too get it unlocked at a phone shop, which costs extra money. On the Iphone you can download tracking devices so if your phone gets lost you can track it from another phone and get it back!

To stop people using their phones whilst driving you have bluetooth so people can talk and answer the phone using voice activation.
To stop people downloading from dodgy sites, these sites have been blocked.

UNIT 14 M2

The difference between 3g and wifi is the speed of the network, WiFi is a lot faster than 3g. This is because you are closer to it so the signal is stronger. But with 3g you are always connected but it is kind of slow. WiFi is good because it allows you to access all areas of the internet a lot faster than 3g would allow you to. Although 3g is faster for emails. Another difference is that sending a picture message over 3g cost £1.50 whereas with WiFi it is free. WiFi is faster because you have to be near it to connect and is alot faster.

UNIT 14 P1 how are are Bluetooth are protected and WIFI

Bluetooth is protected by a password where you have to connect with someone and the a password that comes up on booth phones that you have to put in. WiFi is like Bluetooth you have to have a private password to be connected to it. Most people have a password to stop people from hacking in and is also incripted.
Firewall: a technological barrier designed to prevent unauthorized or unwanted communications between computer networks or host.
Encrypting:using a secret code so as to be unintelligible to unauthorized parties.

UNIT 14 M1.....................

Unit 14
M1

How do devices and protocols keep data safe?

Most up to date devices can keep the majority of data safe, as they are very clever and they don't take a genius too work.
You can set your own password for security/protection.
On an iPhone you need a 4 digit code to unlock it that the owner can set. This can be very awkward and hard too guess as there are thousands of possibilities and the phone locks for 10+ minutes after ten wrong attempts.
On the iPhone you can download tracking devices and has a built in Satnav, this could be used too track your stolen phone. You can also have a password where it uses dots that you have to connect to each other.

On other phones like blackberries, you can set the password too whatever you like, including letters, so there will literally be billions upon billions of possibilities too keep your data safe.
You can also download tracking data and Satnav type apps on your blackberry too track a stolen phone etc!
Most Smartphones now-a-days can do things like this as they are clever devices!

There is also something called encryption; this is the process of sending a message privately so hackers and eavesdroppers cannot read it.

The difference between 3G and Wi-Fi I think Wi-Fi is faster because you have to be near it to be connected so it will have better connection and 3G I think will be slower because you could be anywhere and it might be a bit slower.

Bluethooth is also protected, because when you want to pair with someone you and them have to put a code in and keep your stuff safe. Wi-Fi is also safe because you also have to use a code to connect to that aswell.

unit 14 p7

This is how you put a contact into a text message or email.

To do this you go on to text message and in the box where you put your message there is a little paper clip in the bottom right hand corner of the box. You can also send through email aswell and you do the same as you did with the message. (for some phones)

For iPhone's you have to go to the contact to share it. You press on the contact, press share contact and then it should forward it to the text box and there you put there name of the contact you want to send it to.

unit 14 p6

social life:
from going on your computer or being addicted
to playing on a game on it, you could get eye strain.
This is when your eyes get really sore or your
sight goes blurry
You could also get issues like typers from typing
to much they get strain in their hands so they will
probably have to have time off work. You can
go on your computer/laptop when ever you want.

The Law:
if your phone gets hacked into and you have work
contacts on it or vital information you could lose all
that and someone could get lots of information then they
could hack into your files.
piggybacking is against the law to this is when someone
hacks into you WiFi and uses it all the time and if you
are paying once a month for your WiFi the person who
has hacked into it can add money on to your cost. You
can also take the person to court to get them prosecuted

M3:
to solve all of these problems you can put a security
lock on to your phone or laptop so if someone is trying
to rob your phone or laptop they cant get into your files
or they cant get into it at all.
You could also put a tracking device on your phone
some phones automatically have one but you have to
make sure you have a good one. If someone steals your
phone or you lose it and you find it on your computer
you can track where about it is but you have to use an
app.

Unit 14 p4

If a photographer went out and wanted too transfer a picture, you would need too locate a hotspot.  If you connect too the hotspot you can send it by email. If you have 3G or 4G on your phone that's very helpful. 3G is third generation of mobile standards, this allows you too go on the internet where-ever you are. You can also send the photo's through a social networking system for example, tumblr or Facebook/twitter.

You could also send it through SMS with the disadvantage of it costing.
You can also use a memory stick and and you can connect to your laptop from you camera (only some) you can use some apps that allow you to send photos and presentation through the apps. You can some smart phones too that allow you to connect to your computer at home or where ever it is.

In some cars there are little touch screens above the radio which allows you to connect to your computer at home.

A) i would buy this satnav- Garmin Nuvi 1490 Sat nav around £150
B) Radios in trucks are build into them and can communicate back to the office where they started from (£250)
C) I would use an app on the iPad which costs £3 and will be used to make special deliveries around the word and can use anywhere you go

p3 update

wi-fi - wi-fi is what you have to connect to too get on the internet anywhere. Anything can connect to it from Laptop to Phones and iPad's and you have to be in the house to connect it.

3G- 3G is when you don't have to be connected to the modem in your house. The good thing is that you can still go on the internet without being connected with the modem.

Bluethooth_ Bluethooth is when you can make friends with someone and send them videos, images and songs though Bluethooth.

SMS- SMS is simple message service and is a simple text through analog.

MMS- Is multi media service and changes when you put a photo into it and the person receives it by the messages going through 3G or WI-FI

Journalist who needs a electronic tablet when on location.

MAKE-Samsung

P6 :)

Advantages of using blogger: you can communicate with other people, you can use it for work, you can change he font and the sort of writing and also the color of the writing, you can insert images easily, you can have video chats, watch you tube, and also watch other people on cam, you can create new folders, you can edit your work, talk to people around the world.

Disadvantages of using blogger: you can get cyber bullied, you can get harassed, you can get stalked, you cant get hacked and you can get a virus, show your email, you have to use images to upload your work, your photo and the place you live near.

Another advantage is that you can also use other social sites such as  Facebook, Twitter, Mobile's, BlackBerry messenger, MSN, Skype, G-mail, Blogger.

Another disadvantage is something like instagram where you share photos/put photos up of yourself, four square is like Facebook where you add friends but the only bad thing about this is people can see where you are .
